Wilanów, in the south of Warsaw, is best known for Wilanów Palace, the baroque royal residence with its gardens running down to a lake, and the Poster Museum beside it. Next to the historic village, Miasteczko Wilanów is a large new estate of apartment buildings, and the Temple of Divine Providence rises above it. About 54,000 people live here, and it is the youngest district in Warsaw, with about a quarter of residents under 18. It is growing too, up almost 7% in five years. There is no metro, though trams now reach Miasteczko Wilanów. Much of the district is meadows and wetland along the Vistula. Apartments cost about 17,900 zł per m². Wilanów suits families who want a newer, calmer neighbourhood and don’t mind longer trips to the centre.
