Żoliborz

Żoliborz, just north of the centre on the left bank of the Vistula, is Warsaw’s smallest district by area and its most expensive, at about 22,200 zł per m². About 59,000 people live here, many in prewar villas and cooperative estates around Plac Wilsona, whose metro station is one of the M1 line’s two stops in the district. It has the second most playgrounds and kindergartens per km² in the city and the third most cafés, so families and café-goers both feel at home. Park Żeromskiego, Kępa Potocka and the river make green space easy to reach. The Warsaw Citadel, a 19th-century fortress, now houses museums. Żoliborz suits people who want a calm, leafy neighbourhood close to the centre and can afford it.
